PSA Consulting was engaged by Whitsunday Regional Council to deliver the Draft Road Network Plan — a strategic framework to guide future infrastructure investment across one of Queensland’s most dynamic coastal regions.
Focusing on the Greater Airlie Beach Growth Corridor, the plan addressed key network challenges including flood-prone areas, limited traffic capacity, and the need for improved road hierarchy and active transport integration.
Through detailed policy review, population forecasting, and traffic analysis, PSA developed a forward-looking plan that balances long-term growth with liveability and resilience.
The Road Network Plan will help ensure the Whitsundays’ road infrastructure can support both local communities and over 1.4 million annual visitors, while enhancing regional connectivity and accessibility.
