PSA Consulting prepared the Townsville Mobility Strategy (TMS), which provides strategic guidance for Townsville’s public transport system. As the largest city in North Queensland, Townsville requires a modern transport network that supports its growth as a diverse and maturing city.
With a 15-year planning horizon that’s part of a broader land use and transport initiative, the research-backed TMS outlines the key priorities for this transformation, including future mobility scenarios:
- Mobility as a service,
- Active transport connectivity, and
- Operating strategies.
The TMS considers not only the existing urban bus network, but also ferries, ride-share services, taxis and more flexible passenger transport services – such as Demand Responsive Transport (DRT).
