Overview

The Bega Valley Shire Council identified several mobility opportunities and constraints in the corridor between Kalaru and Bega. PSA Consulting’s assessment determined whether it was feasible to provide a 10 km bike path linking the two townships.

The PSA team:

  • Performed a saddle survey of the corridor,
  • Led community stakeholder engagement and workshops,
  • Reviewed technical outputs,
  • Provided advice to identify key issues, challenges and opportunities,
  • Contributed to the development of corridor objectives, and
  • Developed evaluation criteria to assess path alignment options.

Following input from the community, PSA developed a feasibility assessment of the preferred design – including a cost-benefit assessment – enabling the council to make informed decisions on prioritising works packages. The study also forms the basis of future funding submissions to both State and Federal governments.
