Greater Adelaide Regional Plan

PSA Consulting supported the South Australian Department for Housing and Urban Development in the preparation of the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan (GARP), a key strategy to guide sustainable growth across the Greater Adelaide region over the next 30 years. 

Over a two-year period, PSA was engaged to provide in-house training, team support, strategic analysis, advice, and workshop facilitation for the Department’s regional planning team. Our collaborative approach focused on building in-house capacity while supporting the technical development of the Plan, ensuring that the team was equipped with the skills and insights needed to deliver a robust and future-ready framework. 

The Greater Adelaide Regional Plan identifies where 315,000 new homes and 254,000 new jobs will be accommodated, preserves vital land for future infrastructure, and strengthens protections for food production areas. It delivers a clear direction for sustainable population and employment growth, while aligning with South Australia’s broader transport, infrastructure, and urban greening strategies. 

The insights and support provided by PSA Consulting contributed to the successful delivery of Australia’s first fully digital regional plan — a dynamic tool designed to adapt to future data and community needs.
