Bega Valley Active Transport Strategy

PSA Consulting was engaged by Bega Valley Shire Council to develop a comprehensive Active Transport Strategy that outlines the vision and strategic direction for active transport within the Shire over the next decade. This Strategy provides a critical reference point for future Council policy and infrastructure decisions, supported by a prioritised action plan that includes clearly defined funding streams, mindful of BVSC’s limited fiscal resources. A central component of the strategy was robust stakeholder engagement, which included in-person pop-up workshops across four key population centres in Bega Valley, as well as an online community survey. Developed over a ten-month period, the Strategy integrated extensive data analysis, combining best practice active transport planning with a deep understanding of community needs and desires. The Strategy was officially adopted by BVSC in early August.
