TMR has taken a significant stride forward in improving local walking networks, with their first set of state-led walking network plans now published. We’re proud to share that PSA Consulting was part of the collaborative effort to develop two out of ten Walking Network Plans (WNP), focusing on Warrina and Springwood.
As part of the collaborative team with TMR, Logan City Council and Townsville City Council, we embarked on a comprehensive process:
- Conducting desktop analyses and walking audits to ground-truth issues and opportunities.
- Leveraging GIS analysis and inclusive mapping. It was great to have the experience also to work with Briometrix to have the benefit of inclusive mapping by people using wheelchairs.
- Facilitating engaging community stakeholder workshops to gather valuable insights.
- Developing prioritised and costed works programs for future investment and decision-making.
Building on this success, the PSA team extended their expertise to develop another Walking Network Plan for Aitkenvale in conjunction with Townsville City Council jurisdiction.
