PSA Consulting is seeking a talented Senior Planner to support our Land Use Planning and Development Assessment teams.

Role objective

  • Supervise the delivery of, and undertake technical project and individual tasks for our growing Land Use Planning and Development Assessment teams.
  • Assist in developing new business opportunities and work on a wide range of projects including:
    • land use planning, planning scheme drafting, policy and structure plan reviews, investigations and reports.
    • land use planning advice and services to private sector, public sector and our including internal traffic and transport teams.
  • Apply sound knowledge of developments in the land use planning and infrastructure sectors within Queensland.
  • Be professional, dependable and have the ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Building and maintaining client and business relationships, contributing to bids and pursuing opportunities.
  • Overseeing technical and commercial project delivery to exceed budget, quality, safety and timeframe expectations.
  • Providing direction and technical advice to the team – supporting them to achieve their potential while creating a positive workplace culture aligned with our values.
  • Engaging in professional development and industry networking to develop a strong professional profile and reputation.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, schemes and guidelines, while identifying areas of improvement within the business.

Qualifications, skills and experience

We’re looking for engaged, passionate and skilled problem solvers who appreciate a challenge and want to leave a positive impact – not just on our clients, but on our people too.

  • Degree in Town Planning, Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent.
    Professional accreditation and registration (e.g. Registered Planner) (preferable).
  • 4+ years’ experience in the development of strategic land use planning investigations and reports and/or preparation and assessment of development applications for the private or public sector.
  • Relevant post-graduate experience managing aspects of projects and delivering solutions within multi-disciplinary teams – applying technical knowledge and commercial acumen.
  • Ability to deliver work to high technical standards in line with industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, leadership and delegation skills.
